Phillips Presents Handy iPod dock, DVD player, and Media Dock
Portable DVD players are nothing special these days; you can often pick them up at a big box store for less than $50. So, if Phillips wants their new DCP951 Portable DVD player to stand out, it needs to do something special. Good thing it has a few tricks up its sleeve.
First, and most exciting, the Phillips DCP951 portable DVD player has a retractable iPod dock that is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod Classic, and current generation iPod Nano. Through the dock you can view video and listen to music, which is handy because the screen is a respectable 9 inch LCD which sure beats the iPhone screen on a cross country flight or drive. The DCP951 also has an SD card slot for MP3 playback, and of course it plays DVDs as well. With digital distribution rolling right ahead at full speed, it is handy to have as many options as you can in player.
The idea of being stuck at an airport, browsing the iTunes store remotely, renting a movie and watching it on a 9 inch screen without needing a laptop sounds pretty good. And since the Phillips DCP951 will only set you back $140, you don’t have much to lose.
